"Metamodernism of the Oppressed: An Exploration of Metamodernism and its Surfacing in Branden Jacobs-Jenkins' An Octoroon"
"Metamodernism of the Oppressed" is an excerpt from a larger research project analyzing contemporary works by playwrights of marginalized identities and their relationship to a post-postmodern movement that has been dubbed "metamodernism." This excerpt outlines the tenets of metamodernism and explores how they surface in the work of Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. The paper then argues that metamodernism is utilized by Jacobs-Jenkins to create a "livable now" for the oppressed through the re-activation of past revolutions.

Last Night and the Night Before Program Note
As dramaturg for the College of Charleston's production of Last Night and the Night Before by Donnetta Lavinia Grays, Noah wrote a program essay that differed from many of their other program notes. This note explored poetic diction and varied syntax to evoke emotion and reflect the poetry inherent within the play text. In this way, this program note sought to prepare audiences emotionally for the performance they were about to experience rather than socio-politically or historically.
